Key technical requirements for solar energy and batteries

Eligible photovoltaic installations must meet specific technical requirements:

Eligible capacity up to 500 kWp (only the first 500 kWp are funded).
General limit of 100 kWp eligible capacity.
Maximum storage ratio: 5 kWp of battery per 1 kW of generation.
Mandatory minimum equipment warranty of 5 years.
Complete exclusion of lead-acid batteries.
Mandatory remote monitoring (daily, monthly and annual data).

These requirements aim to ensure the efficiency, traceability and durability of the installations.

Aerothermal energy and EV charging: specific requirements

In the case of aerothermal systems, a minimum performance (SPF > 2.5) is required, and air-to-air systems are excluded. In addition, solutions that efficiently cover heating, cooling and domestic hot water are prioritised.

In electric mobility, charging points must meet:

Maximum power of up to 15 kW.
Type 2 connector (IEC-62196-2, mode 3).
Exclusively private use.
Smart charging systems for capacities equal to or below 22 kW for entities with economic activity.

Eligible costs and environmental requirements

The new renewable energy grants cover a wide variety of costs related to the installation:

Equipment, materials and installations.
Control and monitoring systems.
Technical projects, reports and site management.
Civil works such as structural reinforcements, trenches or adaptations.

In addition, at least 70% of construction waste must be recycled or reused. It is important to remember that leasing, renting and recoverable VAT are excluded.

Grant intensity depending on the beneficiary

The percentages vary depending on the applicant’s profile. In this way, access for households and SMEs is prioritised without excluding others:

Private individuals: up to 70% for solar and aerothermal systems.
Small companies: between 40% and 60% depending on the technology.
Medium-sized companies: between 30% and 50%.
Large companies: between 20% and 40%.

Call deadlines

The timeline of these new grants is particularly strict and should be taken into account:

Individuals: up to 70% off solar and heat pumps.
Small businesses: between 40% and 60% depending on the technology.
Medium-sized businesses: between 30% and 50%.
Large businesses: between 20% and 40%.

Execution deadlines range between 4 and 9 months, depending on the size of the project.
